Joy Langford

With over 26 years of experience in the legal field, Joy is a seasoned litigator and executive who specializes in insurance and reinsurance law. After two decades as a partner in an international law firm, she now provides strategic and effective legal counsel to PartnerRe, a leading global reinsurer that operates in more than 35 countries. She values integrity, excellence, and innovation, and strives to foster a collaborative and diverse culture within the legal team and across the organization.

As the Executive Vice President, General Counsel Americas and Global Head of Litigation at PartnerRe, she oversees all aspects of litigation and arbitration for the PartnerRe Group globally, as well as manages all corporate legal affairs of the Americas region. She leverages her extensive knowledge and experience in handling complex and high-stakes disputes involving property, casualty, life, health, and financial reinsurance. She also advises the senior management and the board of directors on various legal, regulatory, and compliance matters. Some of her key achievements include successfully resolving multimillion-dollar claims, securing favorable outcomes in high-stakes cases, and enhancing the efficiency and quality of the legal services.
